I’m Sherry, a 56 year-old runner (hence the wrinkled!) who has gone from running as buffalo marathon shirtexercise to loving the sport. I started around 17 years ago when a magazine article proclaimed that in your 40’s its “Welcome to back fat”! I took a look and lo and behold…there it was!! I determined then to lose 30 pounds and thus started my running “journey”…or torture. At first I could walk a mile, run a mile, walk a mile and gradually (verrrrry gradually) worked up to a half marathon.

I have now completed 4 marathons and  6 half marathons.  I talk about my training, and also share the things I am learning as I go along. I have found so many helpful resources as I explore and grow as a runner and can’t wait to pass them on to you!

I am a mom to 5 children (all married) and grandma (Nani) of 7. My partner in everything is my husband of 36 years, Dave.

In 2019 I attended a RRCA Coaching Certification course and successfully completed the steps to become a running coach. The main reason I did this was to learn more about running and how to set up my own training and to have confidence about the information I am providing on this website and on YouTube.

Although my passion is running, I am also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Nutrition Coach. When I coach a runner, I add strength training specifically for running. I also provide Personal Training services for those who are not runners. Check out my Coaching Services if you are interested.
